Congratulations to the Zaleski brothers & crew sailing on Twins for winning the 2008 J-24 Midwinter's Regatta!
Mark Hillman, sailing Wip, came in second place & also won a berth to the 2009 J-24 World Championship Regatta in Annapolis, Maryland.
The Midwinters are scheduled in February, and with a Saturday registration (Feb. 9) and FOUR solid days of racing, the regatta promises to provide an excellent opportunity to have lots of fun and fierce racing. We are scheduling a total of 13 races, and our race committee promises to keep us out racing as long as we can stand it. Following the event, there will be a fun-distance feeder race to St. Pete Florida to transition you to the next venue, the St. Pete NOODs. So in a little over one week, you could participate in two world-class one-design events and enjoy the sunny Florida weather and hospitality.

| Road closures coming on and leaving Davis Islands Feb. 9th-10th |

| On Saturday Feb. 9th & Sunday Feb. 10th, the Gasparilla Marathon is taking place in Tampa. Due to this event, road closures will occur. Traffic both coming on and leaving Davis Islands will ONLY be impacted from 5:50 am until approximately 6:20 am, and while the participants are running on to the Island and making their way to Bering Ave. Otherwise, there will be a continuous flow of traffic both on and off the island. This will occur both days of the event. In addition, please note that when leaving Davis Islands on Sunday, Feb 10 via the Plant Ave Bridge the some streets may closed until 9 am.
